Why the name 'Jericho' ?
Also known as the Resurrection Plant, the Rose of Jericho is a desert plant that can survive complete desiccation. It is not the most pretty, but it always survives, thanks to its amazing abilities. It is a great symbol of resilience for a company – and a civilization facing a climate crisis. Two plants are commonly referred to as the Rose of Jericho: Selaginella lepidophylla and Anastatica hierochuntica (above picture).
Jericho is a historical city located in the West Bank, officially ruled by the Palestinian Authority (Zone A), as recognized by the UN and Canadian government, despite the Israeli occupation and settlements. Referred to in the Bible as the ‘city of palm trees’, it has attracted human settlements since 9000 BC and has great archaeological importance. Learn more.
